i have a 1995 toyota surf with the 3.0 vze and i have a pretty bad lifter tap it wasnt bad till i sank it in the water at onna point and now i have really low oil pressure and a little bit of power lose. also when i crank it up there is a bad knock or grinding sound then like 2 seconds later it goes away ive done some research and it looks like it could be the valve train so i can pick up a set of new heads for about 700 bucks online complete with everything while im at it tho im going to replace the water pump and oil pump and all the belts.

question is should i do it myself or just buy the parts and have a shop do it for me.

and i dont really have a place to do it so i will have to ask some friends if i can use their garage.
if i do decide to do it myself would anyone be interested in helping me out?

thanks

Landon

I'd be down to help you out. I've been there right where your at. I had about 55 man hours in replacing everything in my motor when my fan caught my upper radiator hose... lol.
